An innovative product appropriate to this new millennium, Soundwalk is a new form of media, whereas one virtually interacts with his or her surroundings. How is it done? Easy, you purchase the walk, go to the starting point, put your headphones on, press play, start walking.
Soundwalk appeals to the individual rather than the group. Soundwalk is a cinematic experience, a way to explore and understand a new culture and others, feeding you historical and trivial facts all the while. You become the narrator as you are lulled by their voice, and you discover a neighborhood enchanted by a flawless mix of fitting music, sound effects, interviews, and sound clips. An experience like no other which surpasses your expectations and an insider guide for the non-tourist. For fifty minutes, one is immersed in a subreality of sounds, smells, and sights. The slick packaged CDs feature a user-friendly map of the neighborhood pointing to the hot spots of the area and the beginning of tracks.
With its interactivity in non linear fashion, Soundwalk has quickly become the leading audio walking tour company. In 2004, Soundwalk won the Audie AwardŽ by the Audio Publishers Association for best original work, honoring excellence in audio publishing for their Bronx Soundwalk. In 2005 Soundwalk was nominated again for an Audie AwardŽ for best original work to honor the Ground Zero Sonic Memorial Soundwalk. For that same Sonic Memorial Soundwalk narrated by Paul Auster, Soundwalk won the Dalton Pen AwardŽ for best Multimedia audio and the Audio File EarphoneŽ for Best Original work. Varanasi-The City of Light, a tour in India, is nominated for a 2006 Audie AwardŽ for best Spiritual work.
In addition to the existing walking tours available to all, Soundwalk 2 was created to provide custom made Soundwalks as a marketing tool for corporate projects and promotional events in a very unique way, to be channeled using all the new technology available from mobile cellular phones to wireless mp3 players.
Soundwalk has partnered with Puma and the W Hotels to create running guides for businessmen in Berlin, New York, Paris and London. Soundwalk has also partnered with Orange, Paris-Premiere, Chanel, Adidas, Sony and The Louvre to bring a new type of entertainment to their customers. With many more collaborations to come, Soundwalk is quickly becoming a household name without losing touch with its concept and originality.
